Learn to teach classical Yoga Nidra in its pure form as the ancient Vedic texts reveal and guide others to reach deeper states of conscious awareness of both their physical and subtle bodies. Join us in open air shalas surrounded by the beautiful jungle of Nosara, Costa Rica.
This blissful resort is within walking distance to one of the best surf breaks in the world. During this 32 hour course, students will learn the mythology, philosophy, science and practice of Yoga Nidra and be well prepared to guide students through the practice.
Upon completion, students will be able to teach Yoga Nidra to the public and receive certification from the California College of Ayurveda.
No previous yoga training is necessary. We have 8 days and 7 nights to explore Yoga Nidra and all that Nosara has to offer. 32 hours of class spread out over 6 days leaves plenty of time for personal pleasures as well as study. The week includes shuttle service to and from Liberia Airport (so a car rental is not necessary, there are bikes at the resort and tuk tuks are available to take you anywhere in Nosara), 3 meals a day at an amazing buffet the resort prepares for us, rooms (a few options) and the training.
Elle Walker CAS intern, PKS, AYT, Ayurvedic Marma Therapist and owner of Moon Aryurveda in North Lake Tahoe, California will be leading the teacher training as is very blessed to have Dr Marc Halpern, AyD, PKS, AYT, founder and President of the California College of Ayurveda, as well as Dr Andrea Deerheart, founder of the HeartWay and a CCA certified Yoga Nidra Instructor as special guests and co teachers on this journey.
Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. It is a state of deep conscious relaxation and is a form of pratyahara, or sensory withdrawl. Once in the state of Yoga Nidra the body appears to be asleep but the consciousness is fully present. It is not a technique but a state of consciousness that is guided by the sound of the instructor’s voice. Prana, or the life force, is given permission to flow more freely through the nadis or channels of the body. Regular practice helps release unwanted energies and emotions that block the channels. When released, a great feeling of peace or bliss becomes reality.
It is a profound practice to give as well as to receive. During the training, students will be guided through several sessions and practice teaching several sessions.
This program qualifies for 32 hours of Approved Professional Development with the International Association of Yoga Therapist (IAYT) and 32 hours of Yoga Alliance (YA) Continuing Education credits.
