Pat Harada Linfoot

Pat sees the practice of yoga as an opportunity for physical, psychological, and spiritual inquiry. With compassion, generosity, and humour, she encourages students to maximize their potential. Themes from eastern philosophy, psychology, and everyday experience inform her teaching. Her academic studies in psychology, education, and statistics provide a fertile foundation for creative expression.

Pat was introduced to meditation in the mid-seventies with Transcendental Meditation and has studied with Ken McLeod, Joan Halifax, Sharon Salzberg, Robert Thurman, and Jeff Warren. She is passionate about exploring the intersection of asana and meditation, and in 2014, she completed the Nalanda Certificate Program in Contemplative Psychotherapy with Miles Neale.

As co-owner and director of Octopus Garden, she continues to teach classes, workshops, and retreats, and to mentor and train teachers. Pat is inspired by the rich, collaborative process of mentoring – of working together to develop a teacher’s unique voice and fullest expression of potential. Pat is grateful to all of her teachers, past and present.

David Good

David Good believes yoga is a way to discover your hidden potential and find the truth of who you are, on and off the mat.

David discovered yoga in his twenties in Vancouver. What began as an on-again-off-again relationship eventually grew into a daily practice. After many years of practicing, David walked through the doors of Octopus Garden Yoga Centre and knew he had found his teachers. Having completed an extensive 500-hour teacher training and Advanced Restorative Teacher Training with Scott Davis and Pat Harada Linfoot, he is eager to share the knowledge he has acquired and spark a passion for the practice of yoga in others.

David’s classes range in intensity and focus, from vigorous sequencing to supportive restorative work. Offering rich alignment cues and heartfelt humour, David aims to create an inclusive environment that nurtures the soul and leaves students feeling like they’ve learned something about their bodies in the process.
