The practice of back bending over time can build mental confidence and strengthen the muscles of your back, while opening up the front body, learning how is key!
April’s Bio:
April Joy is a Florida Native, sharing time between Santa Monica, California and Nosara, Costa Rica.
Over the years she has had the great fortune to study with some of the most respected and highly trained yoga teachers in the world.
These beautiful teachings from various lineages, continue to deeply inspire her own practice, and infuse the classes she offers to others.
For the past five years she has curated and co-lead Sol 2 Soul yoga retreats, with location offerings in Central and South America; and is so thankful for the opportunity to combine her love of travel with the teaching and practices of yoga.
April’s vinyasa classes are like the waves of the ocean, they start slow, build momentum and then taper down to stillness once more. Classes are heat building, core concentrated and creatively sequenced, there is a definite emphasize on the use of props as well as physical, breath and energetic alignment.
The effort and focus throughout class is designed to lead into the sweet release and expanse of savasana. Super inspired by slower more yin and rejuvenating practices, restorative, therapeutic stretching, and yoga nidra are current favorites.
