Join Masuda and Gretchen in one of the most beautiful and biologically diverse places in the world for a week of yoga, meditation, adventure and relaxation.

Retreat Features

Staying at the Bodhi Tree Retreat Center located in the foothills of Nosara, which is a short walk from the world class surfing beaches of Guiones you will experience a week of yoga, meditation, adventure and relaxation.

Utilizing its unique and tranquil setting in the Nicoya Blue Zone, Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort is the ideal spot to experience peace, relaxation, and rejuvenation. The Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort was designed to flow with the natural environment of Nosara. You can begin your day with a cool-down in your outdoor shower or a dip in the salt-water infinity pool at sunrise. Soothing fountains and waterfalls guide you through the local fauna on your way to your bungalow. Open the door to find a star-lit shower, luxurious cotton sheets and a canopied bed that promises a well-deserved rest. All bungalows have air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and modern amenities abound.

Some students may choose to attend all the yoga classes for the week while others may only attend a few classes. We’ll offer classes in Kundalini, Core Strength & Stretch, Flow, Gentle/Restorative yoga and Meditation.

Give yourself a gift that will nourish you and set a foundation for a healthy and happy 2019.

In addition to yoga, you’ll have the option to fill your stay with spa services, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, wildlife tours or horseback riding. Or you might just sink into the rhythm of Nosara – immersing yourself in nature or relaxing on the beach or at the pool.

Gretchen McCreary

Gretchen’s journey into yoga began 15 years ago, as a purely physical practice. The multitude of benefits was not solidified until 7 years ago when she was dealing with the imminent death of her mother and a husband away at war. Yoga brought solace on every level and it reaffirmed stability and peace in her life. This personal healing is what led her to obtain her 200-hour RYT with Pure Prana in 2009. Within this experience, on the brink of beginning a Masters in Clinical Counseling, Gretchen switched gears and instead received her M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology, with a focus on conflict resolution, to better enable her to help others on a deeper level.

Her mission statement on and off the mat is to be an excavator of peace in those who have lost it, acting as a champion for hope and compassion, while easing inner pain.

Gretchen teaches vinyasa (flow), attempting to allow the energy and motion of a class to release all of the stuck emotion we carry within.
