Catalina Moraga
Catalina is a yoga teacher, movement educator and co-founder of Spirit Loft Movement & Yoga Centre in Toronto, Canada.  As a gymnast, she spent her formative years bounding off any surface she could find. She has a life long love affair with movement and credits yoga and meditation with teaching her to unleash the power of stillness. She is ever grateful to all her esteemed teachers for their generosity, exacting encouragement and compassion; Annie Carpenter, Schuyler Grant, Pat Harada Linfoot, Scott Davis, Poep Sa – Frank Jude Boccio, the late Shoken – Michael Stone and Laura Sygrove. Catalina believes in a balanced practice, one that is steeped in intelligent and tailored technique, discipline, creativity, joy and deep rest. She enjoys encouraging students to explore their edges with skill and find resilience, connection and insight in both their formal and relational practices. Catalina is also interested in practice as a tool for social action and is a senior teacher/mentor with the New Leaf Foundation, sharing yoga and mindfulness based life skills with youth groups from some of the least-serviced and marginalized communities in Toronto. Ever inspired by the transformational effects of of embodied practice, and it's power to foster compassion and community, Catalina is honoured to share practice.
