Jim Bennitt teaches Tantric Vinyasa Yoga: an authentic, comprehensive practice influenced by ParaYoga, the Himalayan Institute and the Krishnamacharya lineage. A Tantric Vinyasa practice has an intelligent flow with a mindful pace that weaves in subtle yet powerful techniques like pranayama (breath control), bandha (energetic locks), and mudra (gestures to direct energy flow) to cultivate a state of peace. In this approach expect to sweat a little, breathe a lot, and leave with the mental clarity that defines yoga.
On this retreat our morning classes will be geared towards strengthening the body while the afternoon sessions will focus on breathwork and meditation to help move deep into the subconscious and become more aware of the content of the mind. This approach will help to uncover the mental tendencies and desires that are the driving force in your life and is really the heart of yoga.
