UNIFIED YOGA

Unified Yoga is a unique blend of many different styles (Hatha, Power, Ashtanga, Hot, Yin, etc.) and is a Registered Style with the Yoga Alliance. Unified Yoga is less of a ‘Yoga Style’ and more of a ‘Style of Teaching Yoga’. We believes that what the yoga world needs more knowledgeable yoga teachers than another new yoga style. The focus of the Unified Yoga style is to develop yoga teachers who are knowledgeable, safe, open minded, compassionate and able to help students of all levels to develop a yoga practice that works for them. In this non-authoritarian teaching style, each student is given the space and freedom to honor their own body, mind and spirit and find comfort in being who they are on and off the mat. As human beings and teachers we arrive on our yoga mat with different life experiences physically, mentally, and emotionally. Unified Yoga honors and celebrates each student as they are, trusting their intelligence and allowing them the time and space to find the balance, strength, grace, peace or whatever it is they are looking for in their practice that day.

The setting of the "practice teaching" for the training is in a vinyasa flow style, but a variety of different styles (Power, Hot, Yin, Ashtanga, etc.) are taught in the morning practice to expose students to styles they may not have tried before. The goal of the training is to learn the tools to teach and then the teacher can utilize those tools to teach in the style that they want and focus on what they want to focus on depending on the students who come to their class. Unified Yoga is the unifying of as many styles of yoga as the teacher wants and learning to adapt them as you like and see fit for your students. The Unified Yoga Teacher Training™ allows every teacher to draw from their own yoga experience in different styles they have practiced and create their classes as they want to or as their students need. Peak Beings values the experience that the practitioners already have before attending the training and wants to build on that experience and knowledge. You will have all the tools you will need as a teacher to design and guide a yoga class safely in any style you like…and we truly encourage you to create your own unique style.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

He has directed over 18 Yoga Teacher Trainings and has certified hundreds of new Yoga Teachers from the school of philosophy of the Unified Yoga Teacher Trainings. He is a 500 Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. He has taught around the globe full time for over 10 years with over 7,000 hours of teaching studio yoga classes and directing of Yoga Teacher Trainings. He is currently based in Los Angeles, California, but has traveled and taught yoga to adults and children around the globe.  Yogi Troy is also trained in Tai Chi Chuan, Reiki, and CranioSacral Energy Work. He likes to allow the yoga practitioners in his classes the time and place to really be in 'their' yoga and to create the space for their yoga experience.

Yoga found Troy when he was at a crossroads in his life and career working as a project manager and engineer on bridge and highway projects throughout the U.S. He decided to take a break from his career to travel, learn more about yoga and deepen his yoga practice. This decision led Troy his first Yoga Teacher Training and in the years that followed, guiding thousands of students in yoga classes and teacher trainings. He is passionate about empowering students and helping them to find a yoga practice that is suitable for them. If you would like to get an idea of Troy's energy while teaching you can check out some of the videos on the Peak Beings Yoga YouTube Channel.
