This tucked-away waterfall destination is a refreshing treat following a 40-minute moderate hike.The hike involves crossing a creek and weaving through a primary canopy of tropical dry forest. Stop along the way to interpret the sights, sounds, and smells of everything around you before discovering a series of brilliant swimming holes and small waterfalls, each cascading from one to another. Bask in the cool water and natural beauty of the site until you’re sufficiently refreshed.

Kayak or SUP alongside the outstanding landscapes and on the serene waters where Rio Nosara and the Rio Montana converge. For nature lovers, this is quite simply amazing, you will find a tremendous amount of natural beauty, weave through mangrove tunnels to a hidden trail that leads out to Playa Nosara, enjoying the exquisite sounds of the jungle. This is an adventure that will, peacefully, blow your mind. Best of all – it’s accessible to everyone and we’ll do all we can to make sure you have a successful experience in the water.

The mornings offer good opportunities to make exciting sights on this hike with numerous birds, howler monkeys, coatis, raccoons, iguanas, butterflies, and insects that you might appreciate. You will have the opportunity to choose between riding on a private property (hills and jungle trails) or a beach tour at Punta Guiones, or a combination of both. This tour will take you from the stable up to the hills with breathtaking views of the ocean, beaches, field trails, and incredible landscapes, where you can appreciate the sunset time. All horses are friendly, reliable, and trained by an expert, giving beginners and advanced riders have a fun experience. (Ask for the special full moon tours in the evening).

Enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise from beautiful Playa Garza. Located a few minutes south from Guiones, Garza Bay is surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches and mountainous country- side. With beautiful weather and calm blue seas, you’ll see the amazing pink sunsets from the water. Cruise departs between 3:30-4 and returns after sunset (approximately 2 hours long). It is one of the closest bays to the Continental Shelf where Marlin, Sail- fish and Tuna abound. Captain Carrillo has been sport-fishing the waters off Garza his entire life. The Ostional Wildlife Refuge is the site of a rarely seen biological wonder. The week before the new moon, hundreds of sea turtles come to one specific mile of beach to dig their eggs into the black volcanic sand. Turtles nest at Ostional year-round but peak time occurs from August through December. The phenomenon of “arribadas” (mass nesting) occurs regularly once or twice a month.

Immerse yourself in the jungle surrounding Wildlife Sanctuary, guided by the inspirational female founder discover the essential plants and trees that create this ecosystem, and taste herbs and spices are grown in our on-site vivero. Learn about the wildlife that calls Nosara home and the dangers they face due to human encroachment. See some of the wildlife that requires lifetime care at Sibu Wildlife Sanctuary. Tours must be booked in advance. We recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment as we only have limited availability.

The Green Coasts tour is a unique experience in Nosara, where you'll have the opportunity to contribute to one of the community projects with the greatest and most visible local impact — planting your own tree in Guiones Beach.
The activity consists of a visit to our tree nursery, where you'll learn about tree reproduction, the problematic devastation of the coastal ecosystems and the efforts of Green Coasts to restore them.
From there we head directly to the beach, where you can plant your tree in the middle of the reforestation field. You can also write a dedication on a wooden board attached to your tree, so you can recognize your tree every time you visit the beach.
Depending on the size of the group, the tour takes approximately 90-120 minutes. The tour includes fruits, a welcome pipa water, tools and the necessary equipment needed to plant your tree.

Start your day with a relaxing safari, floating on a raft along the river. It's definitely the best way to explore the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of Guanacaste. You'll be able to observe multicolored birds, howler monkeys, iguanas, and maybe even crocodiles. We conclude the journey by enjoying fresh fruits on the riverbank.

Learn traditional Costa Rican cooking techniques and cook in a wood-fired kitchen. We will make local fish ceviche and empanadas using Costa Rican family recipes.

Enjoy a truly immersive experience surrounded by nature’s beauty, enhanced with fresh local fruits and the use of binoculars to ensure you don’t miss a single detail.

Join us for a night walk! This tour is ideal for those who want to make the most of every minute in Costa Rica and have the opportunity to encounter all the nocturnal creatures that Guanacaste hosts. The trail follows the creek, which is the perfect area to observe native wildlife in its natural habitat and listen to animals that remain hidden during the day.

We begin at the entrance to the "Mala Noche" Waterfall. We start the hike through the forest, crossing multiple small rivers before reaching the large waterfall. The hike takes about 20 minutes. Upon reaching the waterfall, we give a safety briefing and practice before climbing the wall. We will then descend one by one rappelling down the 22-meter waterfall. There will also be time to swim in the small natural pool, climb, and jump from the walls. When ready, we will walk back to the starting point and enjoy some fresh fruits. After a short break, we head to the river. Enjoy a relaxing safari floating on a raft along the river.

Stand up paddle the serene waters of the Rio Montana and Rio Nosara, weaving your way through mangrove tunnels to a hidden trail that leads out to Playa Nosara. This is a stand up paddling adventure that will (peacefully) blow your mind. Best of all – it’s accessible to everyone and we’ll do all we can to make sure you have a successful experience in the water.

Paddle around Garza's northern headland to the fabled Isla Rosada, visit the tucked away "Coco' beach, explore the outer reefs of south Guiones or cruise the Garza bay. Depending on local conditions your ocean paddling experience will be crafted to you and your groups' skill level. During the trip you'll increase your coean knowledge and experience its dynamic waters enhancing your stand up paddling skills and confidence.
