Ann & Tara are both graduates of the Nosara Yoga Institute (NYI), our teachers are Don and Amba Stapleton. We have deep ties to Nosara and over 25 years of teaching experience combined. This retreat invites you to slow down and to drop into the natural surroundings of this beautiful place creating power and resilience in your body, mind and spirit.

Recently a student of Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, Tara graduated from a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher Certification Program, a two year mindfulness training. Tara enjoys teaching vinyasa style yoga, qigong and meditation. Tara also loves to have a lot of fun and not take life too seriously. A twenty year survivor of cervical cancer, Tara sees movement, meditation and healthy lifestyle as key ingredients to bring peace, calm and happiness.

Ann’s teaching is a reflection of the many inspiring teachers she has studied with throughout the US, Central America and India during the many years she has been practicing yoga. Ann’s interdisciplinary approach to yoga offers a unique blend of movement, mindfulness, and holistic wellness, making her classes a transformative experience for students of all levels. Drawing from training in Iyengar, Kripalu, Self-Awakening, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga her primary focus is on creating a nurturing, challenging and fun experience that honors the unique needs of each individual. Ann was a senior faculty member of the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica where she worked with Don & Amba Stapleton from 2000 – 2016. In 2010 she founded Evolve Yoga + Wellness, the first designated yoga studio in Southern Maryland. Currently she offers public classes plus offers 1-1 and small group sessions. In addition, she co-leads an annual Women’s Yoga Retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica every winter.
