Join us in Costa Rica at Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort from Aug 17th to 23rd, 2024! During this six night gathering in beachside jungle, we will offer daily yoga, meditation, breathwork (pranayama), and an expertly curated retreat experience with fantastic food,  breathtaking natural beauty, and a wonderful community of like-minded people. Yoga retreat offers you the gift of pause, to be cared for in a safe container, to nourish the body and mind, and to build connections and inroads to the highest spiritual experience of wisdom and unity.

Cynthia, Jazmin, and Dora follow the principles of non-dual Tantra, which means that the lived experience is always included in our practice, that we can turn toward our experiences, comfortable and uncomfortable, in order to digest and transmute patterns. That we always begin with the understanding that we are already whole, divine, and full with the expression of life, the expansive and contractive energy that creates the aware universe.

We don’t need to seek wholeness, but merely remember and reunite with the heart, which is already complete. The body is included and it is the pathway into our inner being, our humanness, the heart.

These three teachers, with decades of teaching and inquiry each in the fields of yoga therapy, sacred yogic literature, human anatomy and physiology and the trauma response, teach with the essential understanding of genuine non-dual Tantra: to liberate breath, movement, sincerity, and curiosity to return to the heart.

This retreat is open to any and all people at any and all level of practice, physical fitness, or self-inquiry experience.

Jazmin Ment

E-RYT-500, YACEP, UZIT

When not teaching or practicing yoga, you can probably find Jazmin in the ocean surfing or in the mountains seeking solace in vast landscapes. Fun fact: She used to be an acrobat in the circus. Thanks to her mom, who insisted she do yoga with her, yoga and meditation have been integral to most of her life.

She’s practiced Iyengar and other forms of yoga since she was a little girl and still consider herself a student first and always. With thousands of hours of study and 500+ accredited teacher training hours (E-RYT 500), her understanding of yoga, meditation, the human body, and well-being is extensive and heartfelt. She initially studied to become a yoga teacher with Ganga White and Tracy Rich. She then completed her in-depth 300-hr teacher training with world-renowned teachers Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee. She considers Rodney and Colleen her primary teachers and has studied with them since she was 15 years old.

Through creative and thoughtful sequencing, postural technique, and hopefully a little humor, Jazmin’s classes are a vessel to explore honest self-inquiry, deep listening, potent rest, and radical joy. Her teaching style incorporates her deep-rooted background in Iyengar yoga with the fluid evolution of Vinyasa yoga and its older sister Ashtanga yoga. Her approach is rooted in postural alignment, yoga therapy, human anatomy and physiology, pranayama (breath), and meditation. It is with great devotion and gratitude that she shares this gift of yoga with you.

Cynthia Abulafia

E-RYT-500, YACEP, C-IAYT, MSNE

Cynthia’s classes support the power of curiosity.  It is through investigation and attention to detail that the experience of the body, breath, and heart begin to tune our attention to its finest point.  The body is included in this attention, and becomes a map for our reverence.  The purpose of the practice is to simply notice ever deeper into the silence and the pulsation that are the root of all form.

In addition to teaching asana Cynthia teaches courses in yoga philosophy, the subtle or energetic body, human anatomy for yoga, the sacred texts of yoga and non-dual Tantra, and yoga ethics.

Cynthia has taught since 2005.  She has been instrumental in the creation and leadership of Yoga Soup’s 200 and 300 Hour Teacher Trainings, and currently co-leads the 300 hour TT. She is also a certified Yoga Therapist, is Pilates certified, and holds a Masters degree in Nutrition. She has over 25 years of study with world class teachers in several schools of yoga, including Yoga Therapy, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami, modern flow blends and movement science modalities, and many beloved meditation, Advaita, non-dual Tantra, kundalini-Shakti, and self-inquiry teachers, most notably Rupert Spira, the late Bonnie Greenwell, and the late Sally Kempton.
