Teacher Bios

Image titleMerin Perretta is an interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher,  Masters level Wellness Counselor and nationally certified Personal Trainer. Her programs range from dynamic, flowing group classes to specialized workshops and highly personalized private sessions. Merin’s approach is grounded in the belief that the guru lives within and our natural state is strong, supple, curious and content.  She views yoga as a pathway to optimal physical, mental and spiritual health and deeply enjoys supporting others to find the practice that best fits their lifestyle and personal goals.

From the moment Merin led her first international yoga retreat, she was enchanted by the deep immersion and connection that happens in this type of travel. It is her pleasure to create safe space for those on retreat to come into communion with the land, the group and their true Self for an extended time. In many ways, leading yoga retreats is the perfect culmination of Merin’s range of skills. Her whole hearted intention is that each person on retreat with Merin would relax into their body, find joy and carry this memory home with ease and grace.

Meaghan has been practicing yoga since 2001 and teaching since 2007. She believes in the power of yoga to transform our relationship with ourselves. Yoga is a tool for looking within, observing what we see, and aligning ourselves with what is truly in our hearts. Through the physical part of the yoga practice (asana), we begin a journey into the body—healing/preventing injury, strengthening, and becoming more flexible. The asanas coupled with pranayama (controlled breathing) aim at creating space in our bodies, steadiness in our minds and ease in our hearts.

Meaghan’s teaching is a synthesis of alignment-based vinyasa (linking breath and movement) and philosophical teachings to help guide students to a place within themselves where they sense their own unique power, confidence, and truth. She uses the anatomical focus and the yogic teachings as a way to find presence and self acceptance.

Meaghan has studied with many teachers over the years including Christina Sell, Todd Norian, Coral Brown, Elena Brower, and The Yogaslackers to name a few.  Her initial 200 hour teacher training was taken with Don and Amba Stapleton of the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica in 2007.
