I am extremely happy to invite you to one of the best experiences I can imagine – a yoga and surfing retreat in gorgeous Costa Rica. This will be our 6th year going back to the gorgeous Nosara coastline and we cannot wait to be there with you.

Personally, creating this retreat has been a dream of mine. I have developed a passion for the art of surfing over the past years living in Santa Cruz, CA (one of the world’s top surfing spots) and for this special retreat, I will be combining my efforts with the iconic big wave surfer, Richard Schmidt. Richard is a renowned surfing champion, master teacher and wonderful, big-hearted person.

Whether you are brand new to surfing or very experienced, you will get so much out of this week. And the yoga we will do on our mats will of course be the perfect compliment to the yoga we do out on our boards.

Join me for this week of exquisite beauty & rejuvenation; inspiration on our mats and exhilaration on the water. See you there!

Namasté,
Rolf

The Experience

Each day will include:

  • Vinyasa Yoga Sessions
  • Surfing Session (these sessions will be scheduled by ability level and by the tides). All levels welcomed (brand new beginner to intermediate/experienced/advanced) –there is something for everyone in Nosara!
  • Meditation Sessions: Instruction and Practice
  • Workshop/discussion
  • Incredible nourishing meals
  • And of course time for relaxation, bodywork, and enjoying the beach and all the beauty a place like the Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort has to offer

A Final Word:

Most of came to yoga to find peace and health and you would not be reading this if you had not found both just by spending some time on your mat. And that would be enough if we did not have jobs, families, bills to pay, along with expansive visions and dreams we would love dearly to see happen in our lifetime. How do we care deeply about the people places and things of this world and remain peaceful and joyful at the same time? Connected to the truth of who we are, unwilling to move out of alignment with that truth, there is literally nothing we cannot do, be, or have. It is not necessary that we move into this posture all at once we need only be willing to move in that direction. This week we will start moving.

Pricing $1850-$3000 depending on room selection. (Includes lodging, meals, all meditation and yoga sessions, and surfing instruction and equipment).

Richard Schmidt

“Sitting out there and realizing that you are one with nature can be a spiritual experience.” Connecting with nature is part of what keeps him heading back into the waves for more; that, and the fact that Richard is a professional surfer.

Richard’s been on the cutting edge of high performance surfing, especiallly in big surf, for over 15 years now. Photographs of Richard dropping into huge waves at Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and Mavericks have been some of the most recognizable surf images over the years. He has been featured in many surf magazines, web sites, photos, posters, books, and films. His exploits in big surf have become near legend and he enjoys a respect within the surfing community that is given to only a handful of the world’s top surfers.
